Mark Dennings is the Chief Deputy District Attorney of the Specialized Prosecutions Division. Mark was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. Mark attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA where he earned his degree in Sociology. He then attended
law school at the University of Wisconsin School of Law in Madison, WI.
Ultimately, his desire to serve the public and aid victims of crime led him to come to San Joaquin County to start his career as a prosecutor with the District Attorney’s Office in 2002. Mark has spent most of his entire professional life in the
trenches as a prosecutor. He has prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from murder, hate crimes, gang crimes, and narcotics, to white-collar crimes, crimes against children and the elderly, and property crimes. Mark has received
numerous accolades including being voted the Prosecutor of the Year.
As Chief Deputy District Attorney of the Specialized Prosecutions Division, Mark supervises the Gang Violence Suppression Unit, Domestic Violence Unit, Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit, Human Trafficking, Elder and Dependent Abuse, Sexually Violent Predators, and the Juvenile Division.
