Bureau of Investigation Chief Brian Scott began his career with the Lodi Police Department in 1992. During his time at the Lodi Police Department, Brian worked in many capacities, including patrol, Auto Theft Task Force, Investigations, homicide, and a Narcotics Task Force.
In 2006, Brian transitioned to the District Attorney’s Office as a Criminal Investigator, working in the Homicide Unit. He was promoted to Lieutenant of the Impact Unit in 2014 and oversaw the Bureau of Investigation Administration, Personnel, and Training. District Attorney Ron Freitas announced Brian Scott as the Interim Chief in January 2023.
Chief Scott oversees a staff of over 65 employees throughout four distinct divisions. They assist in the investigative efforts of County law enforcement and aid in the successful prosecution of cases.
