Following the State of California’s Emergency Regulations regarding the sale of intoxicating hemp products, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office has launched an awareness campaign addressing the sale of unlicensed cannabis products from smoke shops, unlicensed dealers, and black-market sources.

Billy Williams and Takiesha Williams were sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the murder of their seven-year-old daughter, Billie Williams. The pair pled guilty to second-degree murder (PC 187) after a harrowing investigation revealed that they repeatedly abused Billie, inflicting fatal injuries over several months.

The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office and DA Ron Freitas, announce that Laonard Alexander, a 45-year-old Stockton resident, has been found guilty of first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Tyrique Harris outside Golden 1 Credit Union on Pacific Avenue. Alexander was also found guilty of a firearm enhancement under Penal Code 12022.53(d), which significantly increases his potential sentence.

A jury found Ramirez guilty of second-degree murder, along with an enhancement for using a firearm in the commission of the murder. Additionally, Ramirez was convicted of felony possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and misdemeanor contempt of court for violating a criminal protective order.

The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Ron Freitas announced today that defendant Shiva Sharma, 21, of Tracy, has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted kidnapping of children under 14 for lewd and lascivious acts, a violation of California Penal Code Section 664/207(b).

The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, led by District Attorney Ron Freitas, announces that Derek Young, 42, of Ceres, has pled guilty to multiple counts of sexual assault involving minors and an adult. Young’s plea was entered today, with sentencing scheduled for September 20, 2024, at 8:30 AM in Department 8C.
