Drip irrigation tape is an agricultural plastic (LDPE #4) and should not be burned or buried.

Drip Irrigation Tape Guidance

  • Cut drip irrigation tape so that individual drip lines do not exceed 6 feet.
  • Cutting into halves or quarters is preferred for easier handling and disposal.

Recycling (Preferred):
Clean, dry drip irrigation tape may be accepted through agricultural plastic collection programs or special collection events. Collected material is managed according to available markets and processing options.
Acceptance criteria and handling vary by location.
