Justice for Brandi: Dangelo Webb Convicted of Murder and Endangerment

As of October 1, 2021, Brandi’s family had been unable to contact her. Concerned, Brandi’s mother, Tonya, and her brother went to Webb’s residence to check on her. When Tonya received no response at the door, she broke a window to gain entry, Inside, Webb, opened the door and allowed her in, but as Tonya searched for Brandi, Webb attacked her, strangling her into unconsciousness. He then dragged her to the garage and stabbed her multiple times in the neck with a knife. Brandi’s brother arrived and observed the defendant hitting his mother.  He broke the front door to gain entrance and was immediately confronted by the defendant with a knife.  The 6-week-old baby was left on a sofa without safety and was present for these events and in the negligent care of the defendant for days.  The defendant fled with the baby and stole the vehicle belonging to Tonya.  A suitcase was located in the kitchen which was ultimately determined to contain the body of Brandi.  She died as a result of strangulation and being stabbed over 30 times.  The defendant planned to bury her body and it was determined she had been dead inside the house for at least 3 days.

“This case is a chilling reminder of the evil some are capable of, but it is also a testament to the courage of Brandi’s family and the determined pursuit of justice by law enforcement and prosecutors,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “We will not stop until every victim and family get the justice they deserve.”

Deputy District Attorney Janet Smith led the prosecution, working closely with Detective Andrea Lopez of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department.

The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office extends its deepest gratitude to all who worked tirelessly to secure this conviction and bring justice to Brandi, her child, and her family.
