Stockton - The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office charged the following ten individuals, all of Stockton, in last week’s Gangland Gun Bust: Sovject Soy, 19, Tyrese Nhean, 22, Chitra Soy, 23, Tariq Shannon, 22, Kaimuang Saeyang, 39, Broun Ham, 29, Sophanne Chan, 25, Delaney Say, 24, Josyah Day, 20, and Kobe Chann, 21.
Defendants Chitra Soy, Nhean and Shannon were arraigned on multiple gun, automatic weapon, and gang charges and are being held on no bail. Their next court date has been set for August 23, 2024.
Defendants Saeyang, Ham & Sovject Soy were arraigned on multiple gun, automatic weapon, and gang charges and are being held on $250,000 bail. Their next court date has been set for August 23, 2024.
Defendants Say and Chan were arraigned on multiple gun and gang charges, with bail set at $250,000. Their next court date has been set for September 3, 2024.
Defendant Josyah Day was arraigned on multiple gun charges, with bail set at $100,000. His next court date has been set for September 3, 2024.
Finally, Defendant Kobe Chann was also arraigned on multiple gun charges, with bail set at $75,000. His next court date has been set for August 23, 2024.
An investigation led by the Stockton Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and aided by the Manteca, Lodi, and Tracy Police Departments, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the San Joaquin District Attorney’s Office, the AB109 Task Force, CDCR, San Joaquin County METRO Narcotics Unit, CHP Auto Theft Task Force, and the FBI Task Force, recovered 34 firearms and over $100,000 in illegal proceeds, from the alleged members of the “Tiny Raskals Gang”.
District Attorney Ron Freitas praised the work of local law enforcement in getting these guns off of the streets of Stockton. Added District Attorney Freitas, “I hope these arrests, and the charges just levied against the ten suspects, sends the message loud and clear: One of our top priorities here in San Joaquin County is to ensure that we do everything in our power to take these illegal guns off our streets. To those who engage in this behavior, do so at your own risk. You will be arrested, and we will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.”
