The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Ron Freitas announced today that defendant Shiva Sharma, 21, of Tracy, has pled guilty to two counts of attempted kidnapping of children under 14 for lewd and lascivious acts, a violation of California Penal Code Section 664/207(b).

Sharma was sentenced to a total of 5.5 years in prison to be served concurrently. These convictions are classified as two separate strikes under California law, and Mr. Sharma will be required to register as a sex offender for life under Penal Code 290.
