Stockton man found guilty in 2023 crime spree

San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announces that 19-year-old Jordan Ivory of Stockton has been found guilty of participating in a series of robberies and carjackings that occurred in March 2023.

On March 27, 2023, at approximately 6:45 pm in the Rite Aid parking lot of Stockton’s Lincoln Center, Ivory, and another suspect grabbed a young woman as she was getting into her vehicle after leaving work.  They dragged the victim out of her car and threw her to the ground as they forced their way into her vehicle.  They sped away as a third suspect followed behind in the car they had arrived in.

On March 30, 2023, at around 11:40 p.m. an incident captured on surveillance cameras showed Ivory and three other suspects robbed an employee of the El Grullense Taco Truck at 1328 S. Hunter Street in Stockton.  The four men pushed their way into the taco truck, physically assaulted the employee, dragged him out of the taco truck, and held him at gunpoint while they took the cash box from inside the taco truck.

Two hours later, Stockton Police officers responded to a report of a robbery and carjacking at the Golden One Credit Union in the Sherwood Mall area. Ivory and at least two other suspects had approached a man at an ATM and robbed him of his personal belongings before taking off in the victim’s vehicle.  Officers found Ivory approximately 10 minutes later walking away from the victim’s vehicle.  The victim positively identified Ivory as one of the individuals who robbed him and stole his car.

Today, in Department 8D of the San Joaquin County Courthouse, a jury found Ivory guilty of two counts (PC 215) of carjacking, one count of second-degree robbery (PC 211) with an enhancement for being armed with a firearm (12022 (a)) and one count (PC 211) first-degree robbery.

Freitas expresses his gratitude for the efforts of Deputy District Attorney Jocelyn Weisbrich, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department, The Stockton Police Department, Stockton Police officers Nicholas Fogal and Nicholas Frayer, and Victim Advocate Isabelle Gilbert.

“This is another example of violent crimes in our community that could’ve ended in tragedy had it not been for the swift action of our local law enforcement partners and dedication from our District Attorney’s Office personnel to find and prosecute those responsible,” Freitas said. “We are also grateful to the victims who came forward.”

Freitas says this verdict further confirms that the District Attorney’s Office will not tolerate individuals who use violence to rob businesses and community members. Any individuals who engage in such conduct will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
