Sunthawon Savon, 20, Charged on Eight Counts
Stockton- Today, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office Charged Sunthawon Savon, 20, on eight counts in the shooting of a Stockton Police Sergeant, and the carjacking of Sam Ol-Touch. The eight counts charged are:
- Count 1: Attempted murder of a Peace Officer
- Count 2: Assault on a Peace Officer with an automatic weapon or a rifle.
- Count 3: Assault on a Peace Officer with a semi-automatic weapon.
- Count 4: Assault on a Peace Officer with a firearm.
- Count 5: Shooting into an inhabited dwelling or occupied vehicle.
- Count 6: Carjacking (Victim: Sam Ol-Touch).
- Count 7: Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
- Count 8: Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
These charges additionally carry the sentence enhancements of:
- Discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury.
- Discharge of a firearm.
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
- Personal infliction of great bodily injury.
- Felony committed while released on bail or O.R.
