Today, San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas joined the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center Program Manager Alexis Wilbur and representatives from PREVAIL (formerly Women’s Center- Youth and Family Services) to participate in the Teal Sand Project.
The Teal Sand Project is an awareness campaign for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The PREVAIL team provided teal sand and awareness resources to businesses, agencies, and organizations across the County to show their support for victims and survivors of sexual assault.
“We must stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “The Teal Sand Project acts as a beacon of awareness and hope for those who come through our doors- the District Attorney’s Office and the Family Justice Center are safe spaces. We are grateful for our continued partnership with PREVAIL and are proud to participate in this awareness effort.”
