The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office recognizes April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in support of victims and survivors of sexual assault.
“It is imperative we support and believe victims and survivors of sexual assault,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office is committed to seeking justice for victims all year round. This month is the time to educate our community members on how to prevent sexual assault and how we can end it, together.”
The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center, will use their platforms to highlight resources available to sexual assault victims, as well as stand in solidarity in their fight for justice. The theme of Sexual Assault Awareness month, a national campaign hosted by the National Sexual Assault Violence Resource Center, is “Drawing Connections: Prevention Demands Equity.”
