Today, San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced that a jury found co-defendants Andres Hernandez, 23, and Andrew Collazo, 21, guilty of the 2018 gang-related homicide, attempted murder, and assault with a firearm in Lodi, California.
“We must keep our communities safe from street gang violence,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “My administration is committed to holding violators of the law accountable. I want to thank the Lodi Police Department for their diligent investigation and Deputy District Attorney Stacie Derman for ensuring justice for the victims.”
On May 15, 2018, the Lodi Police Department responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Lockeford Street and Sacramento Street. Upon arrival, Officers rendered medical aid to the victim, Rodrigo Ignacio, on scene. The victim tragically succumbed to his wounds. Two other victims were also targeted in the attack, with one of the victims suffering from a gunshot wound.
The defendants return before the Honorable Judge Charlotte Orcutt on January 30, 2023 for further proceedings.
