Stockton, CA – The San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner formally presented the 2025 Annual Agricultural Crop Report to the County Board of Supervisors on September 15, 2026. The data will be used by the United States Department of Agriculture as part of its annual compilation of detailed agricultural data for every county in America.

“We know that agriculture is the heart of the economy here in San Joaquin County,” commented Board Chair Sonny Dhaliwal. “Our growers, producers, processors, and their employees feed the world, and the economic impact of their work is seen throughout our local economy. The annual crop report is a great opportunity for us to pause and reflect on the work that provides jobs and income to so many in our community. Agricultural Commissioner Kamal Bagri announced that the gross value of agricultural production for 2025 was more than $3.35 billion, an increase of 6.39% from the 2024 total value of $3,146,586,502. Almonds remained San Joaquin County’s leading commodity with a total of $583,900,630. Milk ranked second, with its total value increasing by 3.54%. Lower production resulting from high summer temperatures contributed to higher prices and, ultimately, an increase in overall value. Walnuts moved into third position due to a higher yield.

In honor of San Joaquin County’s Dog Team, we chose “Paws of Prevention” theme to highlight the detector dog program. In agricultural protection, dogs’ remarkable scent-detection abilities have made them essential in safeguarding the nation’s agriculture.
