Our vision is of a prosperous San Joaquin County, where a culture of innovation and collaboration sustains a high quality of life; social and economic well-being fueled by community values, good jobs, and a healthy environment.
The County Administrator assists the Board of Supervisors to develop long-range policies to serve the County's 789,100 residents. Such policies are then implemented through various County departments. Working with 28 Department Heads, it is the County Administrator's responsibility to ensure all County operations run efficiently and effectively. The County Administrator works particularly close with the Human Resources and Labor Relations director to maintain a relationship with various unions and associations that represent the County's 8,000 plus employees.
