Pay Online

The San Joaquin County current year property tax roll is available online for inquiry or to make a payment by credit card, debit card, or E-Check. Payment plans may not be started online. This service has been provided to allow easy access to San Joaquin County Tax Collector information. Not all accounts are appropriate for electronic payments. Check with your financial institution before submitting a payment. The limit for an individual E-Check payment is $500,000. Although a transaction number is issued, if the transaction fails for any reason, it will not be re-deposited and a return fee will apply. If the payment is returned after the delinquent date, the Tax Collector must also charge the penalties required by law.

The Tax Collector does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of websites or phone systems. If payment is not received by the delinquent date, the taxpayer is responsible for penalties required by law.

No owner information is provided online. California Government Code 6254.21 states that "No state or local agency shall post the home address or telephone number of any elected or appointed official on the Internet without first obtaining the written permission of the individual."

Convenience Fee

Payments are processed by LexisNexis, a third party service provider. If you pay your taxes online, a convenience fee is charged in addition to the property tax amount paid. Convenience fees are paid to the service provider, not San Joaquin County.

Important Notice

When searching for property taxes by fee parcel number, results may include unsecured property tax bills that may not be owing by the property owner. If you need to identify the assessee responsible for a tax bill, please call (209) 468-2133 or email tax@sjgov.org. The Tax Collector’s Office is not responsible for payments made on the wrong property.

If you have an ACH Debit block on your account, it is important to inform your financial institution to authorize Company Identification Numbers: 4596379846, 1043575881, and 1621365614 to prevent your payment from being rejected. Please provide this information to your financial institution and confirm that the Company Identification Numbers have been set up before submitting the e-check.

Pay by Phone

You will need your 12-digit assessment number found on your tax bill to make payments by phone.

Pay by Mail

Property tax payments must be received or postmarked by the United States Postal Service (USPS) by the delinquent date.

Commercial postage meter dates are not valid for determining mailing date. Click here for additional information about postmarks to avoid penalties. To save time and avoid mailing issues, taxpayers are recommended to pay early online.

We are open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The office is open until 5:00 p.m. on delinquent dates.
