Stockton, CA – San Joaquin County announced ten remaining dates for community clean-up events in 2024, inviting residents to dispose of unwanted trash and household items. The events are led by the San Joaquin County Community Development Department, which staffs, coordinates, and supervises the events. Other participating County departments include Public Works, Human Services Agency, and the Sheriff’s Department Community Corps, and the Greater Valley Conservation Corps which provide personnel to assist with loading and unloading items.
“We continue to be impressed by the tremendous pride shown by our residents in their communities through clean-up efforts each year,” said San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors Chair, Miguel Villapudua. “So far this year, over 195 tons of garbage has been cleared in San Joaquin County, dramatically reducing visible signs of trash and blight in our communities. This level of community commitment improves the quality of life for all residents, businesses, and visitors, and makes San Joaquin County a beautiful place to live, work, and visit.”
These events are for waste drop-off only. Community Development Department staff supervise the events and provide trash bags. The Department of Public Works will provide an end loader tractor and operator. On-site Recycling, Inc. will provide electronic recycling and waste haulers will dispose of junk and trash.
