Stockton, CA – San Joaquin County announced today the upcoming launch of a new service that allows citizens and businesses to process permits online starting May 6, 2024. The new permitting process will apply to the County’s Community Development Department, Public Works, Environmental Health, and the Treasurer-Tax Collector.
“The launch of these online services is an important step in the County’s goal to provide increased access to many of its permitting activities,” said Mark Thomas, Director of the San Joaquin County Information Systems Division. “Residents and businesses can use the web-based portal to apply and pay for permits, schedule inspections, check the status of a permit or inspection, or print an approved permit directly from the Internet, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. By allowing residents to complete the entire application process online, the County is streamlining processes and maximizing staff resources to better serve the public.”
The new system is powered by software from Accela, the trusted provider of cloud solutions for government to accelerate digital transformation, deliver vital services, and build stronger communities.
“Increasing resident and business access to government services is an important goal for the County, and this new service delivers an easy and convenient way for us to expand how we deliver services digitally,” stated Jennifer Jolley, Director of the Community Development Department. “The participating departments are collectively pleased to provide this innovative approach that will help our community remain a great place to live and conduct business.”
Residents who do not have access to a computer or internet service should contact the department of interest.
