Stockton, CA – Effective January 3, 2023, the San Joaquin County Community Development Department (CDD) will require all permits with plans to be submitted through its online portal.
“The transition to electronic-only submittals will streamline services and reduce waste by allowing applicants to submit plans and permit applications on their own schedule without the need to travel and make copies of their plans,” said Jennifer Jolley, Director, Community Development Department. CDD will use GoPost to facilitate electronic submittals. The GoPost portal and procedures for submitting plans electronically are accessible through the CDD website or by clicking here.
Over-the-counter type permits can also be submitted through GoPost, via email at building@sjgov.org, or in person at the Building Counter. To help facilitate the transition, a document scanner is available at the Building Division counter for over-the-counter permitting.
Eligible residential roof mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) permits must be submitted online through the CDD website solar permitting portal, available here.
For additional information contact the Building Division at (209) 468-3121, via email at building@sjgov.org, or in person at 1810 E. Hazelton Avenue Stockton, CA 95205. Lobby hours are Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays.
