San Joaquin County Invites the Community to Participate in Voter Redistricting Outreach Workshops
July 19, 2021

(Stockton, CA) – San Joaquin County is beginning the process to redraw the boundaries of the County’s five supervisorial districts. Redistricting takes place every 10 years after the Federal Census, when district boundaries for Federal, State, and local elected offices are redrawn to reflect new population data and shifting populations. Residents of the County are invited to attend any of the three scheduled Redistricting
Advisory Committee (RAC) outreach workshops either in-person or virtually. For more details on workshops visit https://wedrawthelines.sjgov.org. The outreach workshop schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 5:30 P.M. - SJC Administration Building - 44 N San Joaquin St, 6th Floor Chambers, Suite 627, Stockton, CA 95202
  • Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 3 P.M. - Tracy City Hall, Council Chambers - 333 Civic Center Dr, Tracy, CA 95376
  • Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 4 P.M. - Lodi: Hutchins Street Square, Kirst Hall - 125 S Hutchins St # A, Lodi, CA 95240

During and after each workshop, the public is invited to provide comments either in-person or by email. These are among a number of public meetings to provide redistricting information and receive input from the public. Videos of each RAC workshop/hearing will be available online for the public to view at their convenience.

“Participating in the outreach workshops is a great way for the community to get involved in the redistricting process, so I would encourage everyone who can to attend. The more of us who participate, the better we can all help ensure our new district boundaries best serve the residents of San Joaquin County,” said San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors Chairman Tom Patti.

If you are interested in redistricting at the State level for Congressional, State Senate, State Assembly, and State Board of Equalization, an informational session will also be provided at the outreach workshops on ways to get involved in the State redistricting process. More information on the State redistricting process can be found at https://www.wedrawthelinesca.org/.

SJC encourages County residents are encouraged to participate in the process, including drawing proposed supervisorial districting boundaries online and submitting them to the County for consideration.
