San Joaquin County Public Health Services, the Community Health Leadership Council of San Joaquin, Health Plan of San Joaquin, Health Net, and the City of Lodi are bringing the globally-renowned Blue Zones to San Joaquin County with the launch of a Blue Zones IgniteTM pilot.

Stockton, CA – On January 7, 2025 the California Nurses Association (CNA) issued the County a Notice of Intent to Strike on January 17, 2025. CNA represents approximately 888 registered nurse employees who work at San Joaquin General Hospital, Public Health Services, Correctional Health Services, Behavioral Health Services, Emergency Medical Services, and SJ Health Clinics.

San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors created a new standing committee on homelessness to address the ongoing crisis in the County and its communities.

Last week, Governor Newsom signed AB 476 (Villapudua), enabling San Joaquin County to promote non-commercial public health, emergency, and safety messaging on a digital outdoor display from its property on the San Joaquin General Hospital campus that faces Interstate 5.

San Joaquin County Health Care Services (HCS), in partnership with leaders from city and county government and nonprofit shelter partners, is actively working toward a more cohesive and effective system of support to reduce homelessness.
