Stockton, CA – On November 12, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved a Notice of Intent to purchase the shuttered Oakmoore Golf Course located on Wilson Way on unincorporated County land within the City of Stockton. The property has been listed for sale since September 2024.
The 67.25 acre property is currently zoned P-F (Public Facilities). This zone allows many types of public uses, supportive facilities, and buildings that benefit the County’s residents.
On December 10, 2024, the Board of Supervisors will vote on the actual purchase of the Oakmoore Golf Course and open escrow to complete the acquisition. They will consider the following in making their decision:
- The zoning of the property allows for many County uses that are compatible with the General Plan and zoning including the following uses that are being considered:
- A possible Safe Camping installation, similar to what is currently working well in Placer County.
- Construction of needed County facilities in the future.
- The property is in close proximity to Highway 99.
- The property does not share any boundaries with residential communities.
Prior to any future funding or development decisions, the County will conduct any required environmental review.
Because the County is in the due diligence phase of this process, no further comments will be made unless the purchase is completed.
