All affected residents were contacted directly by Sheriff’s Office personnel. Anyone living in or visiting the area are advised to avoid parking along levees to ensure emergency vehicles have access. The San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services and partnering agencies are closely monitoring the river water levels to determine the longevity of the warning.

Additionally, the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services has established an evacuation shelter at the Manteca Senior Center at 925 Cherry Ln., Manteca until further notice. Residents may call 211 for immediate, non-emergent assistance as needed. Small pets in crates will be accepted.

A large animal and livestock evacuation center will be established. Once the location has been secured, additional information will be provided.

The San Joaquin County Emergency Operations Center is rolling out a new public safety map that will help residents identify the location of potential hazards, evacuation areas, and resources such as sandbags or shelters. Known as Perimeter, the map is maintained by San Joaquin County first responders and staff and is accessible to the public.

Residents are asked to avoid flooded roads, remain clear of fast-moving creeks and rivers, and follow all emergency signage. When driving in the rain, always turn on your headlights. Sandbags will remain available throughout the County.
