New Citizens
New citizens who are at least 18 years old are eligible to register and vote. If you attend a swearing in ceremony, you should receive a voter registration card. Complete the form and mail it in. This must be done at least 15 days before the next election. If you become a citizen after the close of registration, you may still register and vote by coming to the Registrar of Voters’ Office before Election Day and until the close of polls on Election Day. You must bring your naturalization papers with you.

A New Citizen’s Guide to Voting” by the Secretary of State.
