Ambulance Patients Offload Times/Delays

The time interval standard established by the LEMSA within which an ambulance patient that has arrived in an Emergency Department (ED) should be transferred to an ED gurney, bed, chair or other acceptable location and the ED assumes the responsibility for care of the patient. For purposes of evaluating APOT across the state, the EMS Authority, in collaboration with EMS system stakeholders, determined that 20 minutes is the maximum time any Californian transported to a hospital by an ambulance should ever wait at any emergency department in the state before being transferred to a hospital bed.

The charts below represent the Ambulance Patient Offload Time (APOT) and ambulance emergency department transports for each hospital in San Joaquin County. Data will also be updated every two months.
