The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors sets the allowable type and maximum charges an emergency ambulance service provider may charge patients as a condition of being awarded an exclusive operating area (EOA) agreement. American Medical Response (AMR), Escalon Community Ambulance (ECA), Manteca District Ambulance (MDA), and the Ripon Consolidated Fire District (RCFD) are authorized to the rates listed in the chart below for emergency scene responses in each ambulance zone in San Joaquin County. Note that other rates and charges may apply for inter-facility transfers between acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other non-emergency transports.
