The San Joaquin County Crop Report is a mandatory annual summary as stated in the California Food and Agricultural Code Sections 2272 and 2279 of all the agricultural work done in the County over the course of the calendar year. This includes items such as harvested crops, livestock, and nursery sales among many others. The Crop Report helps groups not directly associated with the Agricultural industry better understand the market trends and impact of Agriculture by providing these values all in one easy location. This document is even used by our State Legislature to help better allocate funding to benefit our farmers and growers

As there is a delay for most farmers between when their field is harvested and when they get paid for their crops, there is a delay in when the report for the year comes out. It will typically be released in the Fall of the year after the corresponding year of the report. Values are collected via surveys both mailed and handed out to growers and kept confidential when being compiled together.
