Invasive Pest Found on Grapevines Sold at Costco

The San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office is urging residents to take action after the glassy‑winged sharpshooter (GWSS) was discovered on grape plants sold at Costco stores across Northern California, including Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, and Tracy

If you purchased a grapevine from Costco between April 21 and May 19, please:
  • Isolate the plant immediately – keep it in the pot, away from other plants
  • Do NOT return it, relocate it, or dispose of it
  • Contact our office to arrange an inspection:
Stopping the spread of this pest protects our vineyards, agriculture, and home gardens. Thank you for helping keep San Joaquin County safe.
