SURVEYOR


The Surveyor Unit reviews all County Final Maps and City Final Maps for the Cities of Stockton, Manteca, Lodi, Mountain House, and Ripon.  Records of Survey, Corner Records, Certificates of Correction, County Parcel Maps, and Parcel Maps for the Cities of Manteca, Mountain House and Ripon are also reviewed by the Surveyor Unit to ensure compliance with State and local Ordinances, as applicable. The Unit processes County Final Maps with Subdivision Agreements to the Board of Supervisors and Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk.
Additional Surveyor Unit functions include review of all legal descriptions for County lot line adjustments and applications received by the Local Agency Formation Commission, including the formation of, annexation to, and detachment from Special Districts and annexations to Cities, and maintenance of historical aerial photos. The Surveyor Unit prepares legal descriptions and the related maps for road and easement abandonments, land acquisitions, and the disposition of excess lands.
The Unit is also involved with the preparation, review, and maintenance of legal descriptions and records related to over 200 agencies and districts, including sanitary, maintenance, school, lighting, reclamation, flood control, water, and irrigation districts. The Surveyor Unit assists the public in addressing inquiries regarding property lines, rights-of-way, and easements. The Surveyor Unit does not perform private property surveys.
