Field Engineering Division Overview
The Field Engineering Division proudly conducts contract administration and inspection services for a wide range of construction activities, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, and County standards. The Division’s mission is to uphold the highest standards of public infrastructure quality through diligent oversight and coordination while prioritizing public safety and convenience, and exceptional customer service.
Inspection and monitoring services encompass:
  • County road and bridge projects
  • Encroachment permit work
  • Grant projects
  • Special District projects
  • Private sector improvements slated for County operation and maintenance
Additionally, the team offers consultation and coordination services, working closely with public and private sector engineers, contractors, developers, and the general public. This collaboration fosters excellence in Public Works construction practices and procedures.
Special services provided by the Field Engineering Division include:
  • Surveying (e.g., topographic, right-of-way, etc.)
  • Administration of construction projects executed through Job Order Contracts
  • Specialty project management through a third party managed by Field Engineering
  • Utility coordination for Department-led projects
  • Materials laboratory services through a third party managed by Field Engineering
  • Constructability reviews upon request
