On November 4, 2014, the voters of California passed Proposition 47. Prop 47 permits individuals who have been convicted of certain controlled substance and theft-related offenses (of less than $950), to request their felony conviction be recalled and designated as a misdemeanor. Unfortunately, Prop 47 does not apply to everybody. If you have previous convictions for certain serious offenses, you will not be eligible to get your felony reclassified. All requests for reclassification must be filed by November 4, 2022.
The San Joaquin County Public Defender's Office has filed thousands of Prop 47 petitions on behalf of its clients. The office is currently working on notifying individuals that have received a Prop 47 reduction. The following case numbers have been attempted
