Pesticide Container Recycling

San Joaquin County regularly hosts free pesticide container recycling events to help growers, applicators, and agricultural businesses properly dispose of empty, triple rinsed pesticide containers.

Event Hours

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

General Requirements

• All loads must be secured and tarped or covered.
• Recycling must comply with California Food and Agriculture Code 12841.4 and the ANSI/ASABE Standard S596 (Recycling Plastic Containers from Pesticides and Pesticide Related Products).

Accepted Materials

• Clean, non refillable HDPE #2 agricultural containers
• Containers must be:
  • Triple rinsed before delivery
  • Without lids
  • Without instruction booklets
  • Drums must be cut into quarters
• Customers must off load containers into the collection bins at the event

Tracy Location

• No rope
• No bags
• Containers must be punctured

Lodi Location

• Rope is allowed
