By County Ordinance, the Medical Examiner must charge a removal fee of $427 for all persons brought to the Medical Examiner’s Facility. There is a $45 per day body storage fee for all decedents still in storage 5 business days after being released for pick up. Fees can be paid to the funeral home or mortuary of your choice, which will pay the bill to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Removal fees are waived for homicide victims and children 14 years and under.
