Registrar of Voters to Conduct Logic & Accuracy Test of Voting System
April 13, 2026

Stockton, CA – The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters (ROV) invites residents, stakeholders, and members of the media to observe the State-mandated Logic and Accuracy (L&A) test of the County’s voting system in preparation for the June 2, 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election.

The L&A test will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until completion, at the following locations:

Registrar of Voters Office
44 N. San Joaquin Street, Suite 350
Stockton, CA

Following testing at the ROV Office, election staff will continue testing at:

Registrar of Voters Warehouse
7585 S. Longe Street, Suite 112
Stockton, CA

The L&A test is a comprehensive pre-election process required by State law and established election administration practices. The test ensures that all ballot programming, vote tabulation, and reporting systems are functioning accurately and as intended.

During the test, election officials will:

  • Verify all ballot styles are correctly programmed
  • Test vote tabulation and accumulation accuracy
  • Validate reporting functions and outputs
  • Process pre-defined test ballots with known outcomes
  • Re-test the system if any discrepancies are identified

The voting system must successfully process and report all test ballots before it is approved for use in the upcoming election.

“The Registrar of Voters Office remains committed to administering elections that are fair, accurate, secure, transparent, and accessible to all voters,” said San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters, Olivia Hale. “The Logic and Accuracy test is a critical safeguard that helps ensure every vote is counted accurately. The process is fully auditable and observable, reinforcing public confidence in the integrity of San Joaquin County elections.”

In alignment with the Registrar of Voters’ commitment to transparency and public trust, the L&A test is open to the public and media. Observers will have the opportunity to review test ballot results and compare system-generated reports.

San Joaquin County also offers additional opportunities for the public to observe the election process, including:

  • Vote-by-Mail ballot processing beginning May 4, 2026
  • Election Day operations at polling locations throughout the county
  • Ballot tabulation at the central counting facility beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Election Night
  • The official canvass period from June 3 through July 2, 2026
