you can help in a disaster |

| When
a disaster strikes, people want to help. |
| But
the wrong kind of help can be as bad as the disaster. Donated items
that are not requested can take up space needed for emergency supplies,
money collected by well meaning folks may not make it to the intended
victims. |

to Help: Raise
Money for Established Relief Agencies |
| Give generously
to those agencies providing assistance to the disaster
victims. Money helps by allowing the agencies to provide the needed
assistance without the difficulties in shipping donated goods. By following
the guidelines for donations and volunteering, you can make a difference. |

American
Red Cross-
created for younger surfers curious about the
American Red Cross, what they do, and why it matters.
National
Voluntary Organization Active in Disaster-
is a partnership in
disaster response. The organization was founded in the simple belief that
the
time to prepare for the next disaster is now.
Volunteer
Connection- non-profit agency matching businesses, organizations,
individuals who need help or offering to help.
Salvation
Army - non-profit agency helping feed and comfort
victims of emergencies such as house fires, floods, earthquakes.
InterAction is
the nation's largest coalition of relief, development
and refugee agencies. Our over 160 member organizations
have
headquarters in 24 states, and millions of supporters nationwide. |
